Makeup brushes are our tools to achieve ultimate “slayage”, having/using dirty makeup brushes reduces your slay game by my own assumed 20-40% . For example if you have a dirty foundation brush, your foundation does not glide on smoothly as there will be patches. Also, using a dirty eyeshadow brush transfers colour from a previous eyeshadow application.
As an individual or makeup artist, keeping clean makeup brushes prevents bacteria buildup and transfer from your face to your brushes and back on your face which can cause skin irritations and breakouts (from your pores clogging). Imagine being a makeup artist and using the same foundation brush or beauty blender on 5 different clients in a day! That’s gross, right? Why not have as many foundation brushes as you want?
There’s been a surge of makeup brush cleaners over the past months, which, according to several owners is not effective, doesn’t serve its purpose and is a hype!
Going the “traditional” way, below is a video of how to clean your makeup brushes using oil and soap and remember the longer your brushes last when you care for them.
