MEET THE BEAUTIFUL “NKU CREAM” BRAND IMAGE OF THE 60’s AND HOW SHE LOOKS NOW

Viral images of old brand advertisements and commercials dating back as far as the 50’s have blown up on social media for some time now, rekindling great memories of the simplicity of life in the good old days.

Among these was the ‘black-and-white’ printed advert of popular NKU Cream of the 60’s with the image of a young lady showcasing the beauty of her radiant skin. This product was the “go-to” cream of beauty for the young and young at heart. Our mothers definitely enjoyed the best things in life then than we actually do now!

The pretty young lady of the popular 60’s advert is now the seventy-seven year old Mama Akosua Safoa, a retired media practitioner and the mother of one of Ghana’s finest media exports, Kwami Sefa Kayi, the host of Peacefm’s flagship morning show, Kokrokoo!

Though widowed [on Monday, 6th November 1989], Mama Safoa continued to raise her three (3) children (one deceased) with the right morals and societal values. Per her experience and knowledge in her field of work, she shaped them up by directing their paths towards their inner purpose and also by freely allowing them to follow their dreams and ambitions to become substantial in the society.

Even at her age, Mama Safoa continues to glow in beauty and radiance indicating that she was indeed the right image for the brand she modeled for.
